Springfield Rag Room Acquisition

Harrisons are pleased to announce the acquisition of the Springfield Rag Room.

The Springfield Rag Room is a Grade II Listed building that formed part of the former Springfield Paper Mill, Maidstone and was used as part of the rag separation process in the manufacture of paper in the 1800’s.  Part of the interior still retains some original industrial features from the past.

In recent years and until the mill was closed, the building was used as the administrative offices of the paper mill and apart from the paper mill’s chimney, is the only remaining part of the paper mill, which now forms a central feature of the new Redrow, The Mill at Springfield, residential development.

Harrisons are overseeing the repair and refurbishment of the Springfield Rag Room and the design of the offices will be following the “industrial design theme” for modern offices and will be completed ready for occupation in late 2022.
