GPS Marine Acquires Patmans Wharf, Upnor

Harrisons Chartered Surveyors are pleased to confirm the successful sale of Patmans Wharf in Upnor to GPS Marine, who also occupy the adjoining site.

Patmans Wharf, historically operated as a private boatyard, will continue to be used for marine-related purposes. The acquisition marks a further step in GPS Marine’s ongoing expansion and continued investment in the area.

The property has a longstanding riverside legacy, having been in the ownership of the Patman Trust for many decades. The Trust also previously owned the adjacent quarry, which was historically used for the supply and distribution of building materials via the wharf. In more recent years, the quarry site has been redeveloped for residential use.

In line with the area’s evolving character, planning permission was granted for the development of six new townhouses and apartments on the Patmans Wharf site. Nevertheless, GPS Marine recognised the strategic importance of retaining the site for operational use, with its riverside access providing a natural extension to their existing facilities.

Harrisons Chartered Surveyors acted on behalf of the vendors in connection with the sale. GPS represented themselves on the acquisition.
